What is 3D Creator?
3D Creator is a cloud-based CAD design role available to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This brings the power of parametric modeling to the cloud, allowing you to complete your designs from all of your devices including mobile devices such as tablets and phones. This modeling service is powered with the SOLIDWORKS xDesign app. It is fully compatible with 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS, allowing you to design parts on the go and utilize those parts in your SOLIDWORKS assemblies.
Who is 3D Creator For?
The 3D Creator role is for anyone and everyone that wants to carry out CAD modeling on the cloud. It does not have the full capabilities to match SOLIDWORKS but is perfectly capable of handling standard parametric modeling. If you are a SOLIDWORKS user, the interface should feel familiar and you will be able to pick it up with no problems. It is included with all 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS packages, allowing them to work seamlessly together. This role is great for those who want to have the flexibility of CAD modeling online, meaning you can work from any device, anywhere, even from your phone! This role is best suited for product developers or start-ups that have the need for CAD modeling but do not need the full functionality of SOLIDWORKS. Since it works so well with SOLIDWORKS, it can also be great for people working on teams with SOLIDWORKS users, that would like to work with their designs, but can’t justify the price point of the entire SOLIDWORKS package. Of course, it is also great for 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS users, as it comes with every package, and allows them to jump back and forth working on the more complex aspects of the design in SOLIDWORKS and the more standard aspects of their design on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

You can design parts and even manage assemblies from within the app. This app works well with other design applications such as SOLIDWORKS and xShape, and as it is an x-app on 3DEXPERIENCE, its data will work seamlessly throughout the platform.
