SOLIDWORKS with named user licensing is still the same locally installed SOLIDWORKS application. The licensing is named user, which means you sign in with a username and password to activate the license on whatever computer you are on.

This version of SOLIDWORKS uses named user licensing, which means you sign in with a username and password to activate the license on whatever computer you are on.
This does require an internet connection, but you can take the license offline and temporarily tie the license to a computer for up to 30 days at a time with no need for an internet connection.

For new Yearly and Quarterly subscriptions, there is currently a 15-day cancellation policy. This policy however does not apply for trial offers, monthly subscriptions or quarterly and yearly renewals.
